Chris Ott is a full time dog agility instructor, trainer and trainer as well as a canine bodywork and fitness coach. She is also an award winning author of dog training and conditioning materials as well as an international seminar presenter. Chris worked as Team Coach for the USA/AKC World Agility Junior Team three years. She is also one of the top breeders of performance Border Collies in the US with multiple dogs of her breeding being selected to represent the USA at FCI World Championships and Crufts as well as winning National Agility Championships in multiple venues.

Chris’ training school, Speedoggie Performance Dog Training, has been turning out successful dog agility and obedience teams for close to three decades. Her newest venture Total Team K9 Functional Fitness works with performance teams of many sports to improve balance, strength and body awareness, reduce injuries related to performance and increase mental and physical stamina in both dogs and handlers. Chris is also the co-developer of Total Team’s Puppy Journal, an online resource documenting her and her partner Frankie Joiris’ ground breaking puppy rearing and raising program. Chris is a full time facility member of Agility University’s online training program, a long time member of IACP, APDT and NADOI and is a certified Master Fitness Trainer and AKC CGC Evaluator.

Well known for her in-depth knowledge of dog breeds and how best to train dogs with specific genetic traits, dozens of Chris’ students regularly represent their individual breeds each year at the prestigious AKC/Eukanuba National Agility Invitational. Many of these  students hold multiple places in the nations top 5 of their breed. Chris works with all breeds of dogs  including mixed breeds at all levels of training and all ages. Her training program produces dogs that run and play in agility well into their senior years while remaining sound and healthy throughout their careers. Many of Chris' senior dogs (both her own and her  students) are still very competitive in the championship programs of AKC, UKI, FCI and USDAA as well as other nationally recognized programs such as NADAC, CPE and DOCNA. Chris is also known for her problem solving skills and customizing training programs to fit each teams individual needs. She has produced record breaking speeds in agility while maintaining safe performances and soundness in dogs. Her ground breaking Yoga Fusion© and Fit To Be Tricked© fitness training programs take the games of canine performance to a whole new level with specific exercises for dogs and handlers to build better teams from the inside out.

Chris is always on the cutting edge of our sport and encourages thinking outside the box to improve the game as we know it. She also spends hundreds of hours a year continuing her education in both dog behavior and performance as well as adult (human) learning to better help all of her students regardless of their learning styles. Her three decades of experience coupled with her outstanding accomplishments and those of her students makes her one of the highest qualified instructors in our sport.
